One Amazing Grandma

Here are a couple pictures Grandma took last time she babysat.

My Mom (aka: Grandma Thorup) is an amazing grandma (in my humble opinion). She is super good at spoiling the grand kids and making them feel welcome at her house. She lets them play on her computer or eat popcorn and watch movies. She made a playroom in her house that she has stocked with toys and dress ups that is the first place the kids run to whenever they come over. She never worries about a mess or the chaos. She just is glad that the kids love to come over. She spoils us adults as well by volunteering to babysit often--we are so lucky to get a babysitter regularly. And the amazing part is she volunteers to watch all of her grand kids at the same time. If she is babysitting one family's kids she will then call the other cousins and ask if they want to come over too. She has 7 grand kids right now that she babysits together and she never seems to pull a sweat over it. The kids LOVE it because it is a night playing with their cousins and getting just about anything they want from Grandma (and I am okay with that because that is a grandma's job to spoil and love unconditionally). Jonathan told me the other day that Grandma will always tell him yes if he wants something because she loves him so much. I am so grateful to my Mom for being such a loving person to the kids. Every kid deserves such a grandma. Grandmas fill in the gaps that the parents miss.

Here are Jonathan's words when I asked him to tell me about his Grandma Thorup.

"I love Grandma! Grandma is so nice to me and I like her. My favorite thing at her house is that I get to watch movies and that I get to play with Luke when Grandma babysits me. I love her so much!"
