Funny sayings from Jonny

*Looking at my arm and all my freckles and then looking at his arm and his counting 4 freckles I could see the wheels turning in his head when he made the observation "Mom, Carter is awesome because he is just one big freckle right?"

*This is one that Bruce wrote down for me: Last night as I tucked Jonny in bed, he seemed truly perplexed. He said “Dad, I just don’t know what to do.” A little concerned, I said “What do you mean?” After thinking for a moment, he responded, “Well—I just don’t know what to BE.” Again I asked for an explanation. “Well, I could be a tarantula, but I just don’t know if I want to be a tarantula right now.” So we talked about other personas he has recently displayed—a superhero, a dog, a dinosaur, etc. I suggested Tyrannosaurus Rex, but Jonny said, “No—a tyrannosaurus isn’t alive right now.” I was thinking that I had figured out his logic until he said, “I know—I can be a Transformer!”

*Jonny was frustrated because at school he told me they told him to write "Jonathan LeBaron" and that wasn't his whole name. He said my name is "Jonathan Garn LeBaron". I explained middle names and how they work and he said "Well at least I can use one Grandpa's names at school". (He is named after both his Grandpas.)



*Perhaps not really a funny saying but it is worth writing and remembering later. When Jonathan gets really mad his line of defense is "Fine then! I am NOT going to snuggle you tonight!" I think that is the worst thing he can think to say because he loves snuggles and has to have them before bed. To Jonny's credit he may get really mad sometimes but he will calm down and is always apologetic.


*Carter and Jonny take their dancing pretty seriously. This is them beat boxing. It makes me laugh.
